1980...we did have gasoline rationing. we were only able to get gas on "odd-even" days (depending on the numbers in your license plate). you would sit in lines for ever to fill up. emotions ran high. and this after i'd just gotten my brand new, beautiful, red hot, toyota celica. made driving a pure luxury and joy at the same time. brought our baby home in that car. talk about joy! nsh
